33. Push air transfer tube into air transfer tube hole on top of center section.
34. Slide air cylinder over piston and down against gasket on center section.
Note: While using one hand to slide air cylinder, hold upper piston rod in place with
other hand. This will allow piston to be located at the top of air cylinder which is
necessary for attaching powerhead assembly to center section.
35. Place powerhead assembly onto powerhead piston assembly by guiding valve rod
assembly through washer and into upper piston rod.
36. Screw piston keeper into upper piston rod.
Note: To tighten piston keeper, use appropriate wrench on piston keeper and
wrench slot on bottom of upper piston rod.
37. Align air transfer tube with air transfer tube hole in cylinder head and place cylinder
head assembly against air cylinder.
38. Screw three tie rods through air cylinder holes and into holes in center section.
Place nuts on the rods and snug down evenly to prevent air leaks.
Lower Pump Assembly
(All parts contacting resin should be lightly lubricated with MVP special red grease)
39. Fill the groves of the packing set and female compression ring with red grease
40. Place male and female ring on Teflon packing set and insert assembly into bottom
cavity of center section (female ring end first).
41. Place packing spring (small diameter end) over raised diameter area of male ring.
42. Place spring retainer (small diameter end) onto packing spring.
43. Screw connecting rod into lower piston rod and align holes for attaching roll pin.
Attach roll pin.
44. Screw ball stop coupling on connecting rod and align hole for attaching roll pin.
Attach roll pin.
45. Fill the cup area of both piston cups with red grease.
46. Place piston cup on piston body with lip of piston cup facing large diameter of
piston body.
47. Place spacer ring on piston body with large diameter of spacer ring towards piston cup.
48. Place second piston cup in piston body with lip of piston cup toward spacer ring.
(With some abrasive materials, these parts may be reversed. See page 16 and
your parts drawings).
49. Place back-up ring on piston body with groves facing towards piston cup.
50. Apply some red grease to the inside of the piston nut and threads of the piston
body. Attach piston nut to piston body and tighten wrench snug.
51. Place ball inside large diameter opening of piston body.
52. Place spring on ball (small diameter end of spring towards ball).
53. Slide piston rod assembly through Teflon packing assembly in center section until
it meets with upper piston rod.
