WARNING: NO THREAD SEALANT OR LUBRICANT SHOULD BE USED ON THE
CATALYST PUMP.
CAUTION: The only material, other than catalyst, to be used in this pump when
using for MEKP is clean water.
Catalyst Pump Subassembly
(refer to your parts drawing for proper part number)
Note: If yours is a special C42 or C32 (mid-range or high range pump), drawings
will be attached to the pump.
1. Install o-ring and tube fitting in inlet body.
2. Insert the ball into top of inlet body.
3. Position one o-ring on o-ring seat on notched end of cylinder.
4. Screw cylinder with o-ring into inlet body. Turn by hand until it bottoms on inlet
body. Snug tight.
5. Thread locknut onto cylinder.
6. Attach bearing block to top end of piston rod.
7. See packing installation sheet on page 43 for next step.
8. Insert piston rod and packing assembly through outlet body. Tighten packing nut.
9. Position ball in hollow end of piston.
10. Place spring in recessed end of piston rod, and screw piston over spring and on to
piston rod. Wrench tight.
11. Install piston seal over small end of piston, cup side up.
12. Attach seal retainer to bottom end of piston. Hold bearing block and wrench snug
seal retainer.
13. Screw locknut onto cylinder as far as it will go by hand.
14. Place the other o-ring on the seat of the cylinder.
15. Attach outlet body to cylinder.
Note: Align outlet body and inlet body so the threaded hole in side of outlet body
(for check valve) lines up with the hex face adjacent to threaded hole in side of inlet
body (for tube fitting).
16. Secure outlet body and cylinder by tightening locknut against bottom face of outlet body.
17. Attach priming knob to top of bearing block with screw. (This assembly will have to
be removed to place pump in slave arm).
Relief Valve Subassembly
(see instruction sheet on page 42)
1. Place o-ring on tube fitting.
2. Position ball in relief valve body.
3. Install spring in tube fitting.
4. Thread tube fitting into bottom of relief valve body to contain spring.
5. Install o-ring on catalyst hose nipple and insert into relief valve body.
