8.3.3.2 Remote functions
•
Remote Access
Remote access through the telephone network is enabled when this
option is activated (ON). OFF is the default setting, which prevents
remote access.
•
Answer After
This function defines the number of rings that elapse before the GSM
dialer accepts the incoming remote access. This is between “Never”
(remote access deactivated) and “20 rings”.
•
1 Ring Answer
If this function is activated (ON), then it is possible to start remote
access when the telephone line is used by additional devices (e.g.
answering machine or fax) during the access attempt. Therefore, set
at least the required number of rings for the other devices under
“Answer After”. If this function is deactivated (default) then all calls are
accepted after the number of rings defined under “Answer After”.
8.3.3.3 SMS Options
If SMS messages are sent over the PSTN line, then additional details must be
programmed under this menu point.
IMPORTANT:
These settings are not required if SMS messages are only sent over the GSM
network.
All individual details must correspond with one another. Contact the technical
support department of the service provider you wish to use for sending SMS
messages over PSTN (analogue telephone line).
•
SMS Call Number
Enter the service centre number here. When necessary, press the
star key to enter a three second pause. This is displayed as a comma.
•
SMS Format
Communication with the service centre is either made over the 8, N, 1
or 7, E, 1 format. The first digit represents the number of data bits, the
second represents the parity and the third represents the number of
