Genius Configuration
This section describes the
Horner Electric’s Genius
™
Serial Bus Interface (SBI) for
AVDV Series drives.
The Genius board configuration is separate from the drive configuration. The
following sections describe how to insert a Genius and set communication values.
To insert Genius, right-mouse click on the
drive name and select Modify.
In the Properties dialog box, select Genius
from the Network drop-down box.
Genius is inserted.
Right- mouse click on Genius. The Modify
Genius Configuration dialog box displays
to edit communication values.
The Baud Rate of the Genius bus must
match the current setting of the other
Genius devices on the same bus.
Select the amount of Global Data that is
transmitted continuously from the drive
on the Genius bus. The size can be from
0 to 32 words of data. The more data
selected here, the higher the impact on
the Genius bus scan time.
Select the amount of Directed Data that
is received continuously by the drive and
on the Genius bus. The size can be from
0 to 16 words of data. The more data
selected here, the higher the impact on
the Genius bus scan time.
Enter a note associated with the Genius
configuration.
This is the address of the Genius board. This address must
be unique from other devices on the same Genius bus.
The Comm Port is selected from the Options menu. Select
Settings and the tab AVDV Series.
