Setup
8.3 Setup SIEMENS S5 with IM308C
In this case, the DP-Master is the communi-
cation processor IM308C from SIEMENS,
which can be plugged into the automation
instruments S5-115U, S5-135U and S5-155U.
The basic requirements for a successful
setup are an IM308C from version 2 and the
planning software COM PROFIBUS or COM
ET200 Windows from version 2.0. Only with
these or later versions does SIEMENS sup-
ports consistent data over a greater length.
The complete sequence of the setup is de-
scribed in the PDF file „5OE2H.pdf“ or
„6E6A.pdf“ included on the utility diskette. In
addition, the diskette includes S5 example
programs which are also described in the
PDF file „5OE2H.pdf“ or „6E6A.pdf“.
