Image of the contact inputs/outputs on the DISBUS in mode 50E2A

Beside the previously described measured values, it is possible to transmit via the VEGA-

COM 557 also switching conditions of the VEGA signal conditioning instruments VEGAMET
513, 514, 515 and series 600.

These are:

- condition of the contact inputs (position of key switch etc.)

- condition of the contact outputs (relay outputs)

In contrast to the image of the measured values, the image of the switching conditions is “Bit

orientated“. One switch condition is represented in the VEGACOM 557 as one Bit, whereby all

available information of a VEGAMET is saved within one data word of 16 Bit

(= 2 Byte). Such a data word with 16 Bit, i.e. max. 15 data words at 16 Bit each, is available for
each VEGAMET on the DISBUS (bus addresses 1...15). The filing of the contact input/outputs

is made in block no. 33 of the VEGACOM 557 memory area. The allocation of the individual

data words is made acc. to the DISBUS addresses.

On the DISBUS a difference is made in the data word between input contacts (EK) and relay
contacts (RK). The input contacts are bit coded in the High-Byte, the relay contact in the Low-

Byte of the data word (see fig. 7.11).

The meaning of the individual Bits is defined

as follows:

Status of the inputs:

0 = all inputs OK
1 = input status not available (no inputs

configured or VEGAMET not available)

Switching conditions of inputs 1 and 2:

0 = input contact is open
1 = input contact is closed

Format of the contact inputs/outputs on the DISBUS

Example:

Enquiry telegram to VEGACOM 557 (2 Byte):

0xCC 0x21

Block no. 33 ( contact input block/output block) is enquired

Answering telegram of VEGACOM 557 (50Byte):

0xCC 0x20 0x80 0x80 0xEE 0xRR 0xEE 0xRR 0xEE 0xRR 0xEE 0xRR 0xEE 0xRR ...

Status of the outputs:

0 = all outputs OK

1 = output status not available (no outputs

configured or VEGAMET not available)

Switching conditions of outputs 1, 2 and 3

(output 3 corresponds to fail safe relay):

0 = relay is deenergised

1 = relay is energised
