Cleaning
Cleaning the insertion tube
CAUTION
• Clean the insertion tube immediately after withdrawing the insertion tube. If you leave it
uncleaned, the equipment may be stained or corroded.
• Do not use a hard cloth or hard brush for cleaning the insertion tube. Otherwise, the insertion
tube may be damaged.

Use a clean, soft cloth to wipe any dirt or other foreign object off of
the insertion tube.

If a liquid such as wastewater or machine oil is attached to the
insertion tube, first wipe it with a soft cloth or cotton, and wash well
using a neutral detergent solution and pieces of gauze. Then wipe it
with a piece of soft gauze moistened with clean water, wipe off the
moisture well and dry.

Inspect and clean the distal end of the insertion tube according to
“3.4 Inspecting the insertion tube” (page 25).
Cleaning the LCD monitor
If the LCD monitor is dirty or has fingerprints on it, wipe it with a soft cloth
dampened with clean water. Then, lightly wipe it with a clean dry cloth.
CAUTION
• Never use a chemically treated cloth or strong detergent, such as benzine or alcohol. Doing
so may damage the surface of the LCD monitor.
• Do not use a cloth that is hard, dirty, or has foreign matter on it. Doing so may damage the
surface of the LCD monitor.
