OTHER FUNCTIONS
■ Beep tones
You can select silent operation by turning beep tones OFF or
you can select to have confirmation beeps sound at the push
of a switch by turning beep tones ON.
q Push [ (DISP) SET] for 2 sec. to enter set mode.
• Push [CHG/L] if [(DISP) SET] is not displayed.
w Push [ Y ] to select the ‘Operation Beep’ item.
• Left-hand tuning dial can also select the item.
e Rotate the right-hand tuning dial to turn the confirmation
beep ON or OFF.
r Push [ ï ] to exit set mode.
q Push [ F SET] to enter set mode.
w Push [ F SET] to select the ‘Operation Beep’
item.
e Push [ Y ] or [ Z ] to turn the confirmation beep
ON or OFF.
r Push [ E CLR] to exit set mode.
■ Time-out timer
To prevent accidental prolonged transmission with the one-
touch PTT function, etc., the transceiver has a time-out timer.
This timer cuts a transmission OFF after 3, 5, 15 or 30 min. of
continuous transmission. This timer can be cancelled (de-
fault).
Approx. 10 sec. before the time-out timer is activated, the
transceiver emits a beep tone as a warning.
q Push [ (DISP) SET] for 2 sec. to enter set mode.

w Push [ Y ] or [ Z ] to select the ‘Tx T.O.T.’ item.
