Hard Disk Boot Sector
This item sets whether the boot sector on the hard disk is write-protected in order to protect the
sector against virus .
- Normal (Initial value)
The boot sector is not write-protected.
- Write protected
The boot sector is write-protected.
Point
- When installing an OS, select [Normal].
- This item may not operate properly on OSs not using BIOS to access floppy disk drives, such
as Windows NT.
Setting a password

Move the cursor to 'Set Supervisor Password' or 'Set User Password' and press the
Enter key.
A password entry window appears.

Enter a password not exceeding 16 digits.
The password can contain alphanumeric characters.
The entered characters are not displayed and " " appears.
The minimum length of user passwords can be set in 'Set User Password Length.'

After entering a password, press the Enter key.
The cursor moves to the "Enter New Password" field and the utility requests that the password
be entered again.

Enter the same password as in Step 2 again and press the Enter key.
The Notice window appears.
