The SocketScan utility makes it easy to modify which symbologies you want
the scanner to recognize and decode.
1. In SocketScan Settings, click on the Barcodes tab.
Note: The Barcodes tab will only appear if you are connected to the
Bluetooth CHS.
2. Check the symbologies you wish to enable. Uncheck those you wish to
disable. Click OK.
Note: Enabling all possible symbologies will make the decode process
slightly longer.
Note: If you want to scan Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
barcodes, make sure you select the VIN check box. VIN scanning is
recommended only for the 7P versions of the Bluetooth CHS.
Note: The symbology RSS has been renamed to GS1 DataBar.
Note: If you would like to read UPC-A barcodes, be sure to disable
GS1 DataBar so that GS1 DataBar symbols will not be mistakenly
decoded.
