ONNECTION
After installing and configuring SocketScan to connect to a cordless
scanner at the correct COM port, you are now ready to connect the
scanner to the PC for the first time. The process varies depending on the
scenario you set up for.
Note: After the scanner connects to the computer, the scanner will stay powered
on as long as it is connected to the computer.
SCENARIO 1:
1. Double-click on the Socket CS Connect icon on your desktop.
Note: After you configure Bluetooth hardware settings in SocketScan,
the Connect CS option lets you connect to the scanner directly from
SocketScan, instead of manually through Bluetooth software.
Alternatively, click the SocketScan icon at the bottom of the screen. In the
pop-up menu, click Connect CS.
2. If you are using the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, a balloon may report that a
device is requesting to connect. Click on the balloon. As prompted, enter
the passkey 1234 to connect.
3. After the PC connects to the scanner, a balloon may appear, reporting
“Scanner ready.” The scanner will beep once, and the task tray icon at the
bottom of the screen will change to a scanner icon.
Note: This process needs to be done every time you want to connect the
computer to the scanner.
