Voice assign mode settings
The ARP 2600 M functions as a duophonic synthesizer (two sounds can be played at
the same time). There are two different methods (voice assign modes) of outputting
the pitch CV when two MIDI note on messages are received, and you can configure
this when starting up the unit.
Normal mode (default)
This is the factory-set mode. When two note-on messages are received, the lowest
note is output as KBD CV-1, and the highest note is output as KBD CV-2 (UPPER
VOICE).
Original mode
This mode reproduces the operation of the original ARP 3620 keyboard unit. This
is the same as normal mode in that the lowest note is output as KBD CV-1 and the
highest note is output as KBD CV-2 (UPPER VOICE), but differs in that the lowest
note and highest note continue being held until the gate signal turns on (the first
key is played).
Setting the mode
1.
Turn on the power of the ARP 2600 M while holding
down the MANUAL START switch on the panel.
2.
When the power lamp lights, release and press the
MANUAL START switch consecutively. Press the
switch three times for Normal mode, and four times
for Original mode.
3.
The settings will be stored in memory (the power
lamp blinks), and the unit will start up normally.
After you change this setting, wait for several seconds (while the power lamp is
blinking) before turning off the power. Failure to do so might damage the data,
causing malfunctions.
Tip:
The voice assign mode function setting is remembered even after the power is
turned off.
Setting the trigger mode
Selects how the ADSR circuit starts operating (is triggered) when consecutive note-
on occurs.
Multiple trigger mode (default)
The ADSR circuit is triggered by each note-on.
Single trigger mode
This mode is used when playing legato, as a new note-on will not trigger the ADSR
circuit until the ADSR release time has ended.
Setting the trigger mode
1.
Turn on the power of the ARP 2600 M while holding down the MANUAL
START switch on the panel.
2.
When the power lamp lights, release and press the MANUAL START switch
consecutively. Press the switch five times for multiple trigger mode, and six
times for single trigger mode.
3.
The settings will be stored in memory (the power lamp blinks), and the unit will
start up normally.
TRIGGER MODE does not apply to the AR circuit.
After you change this setting, wait for several seconds (while the power lamp
is blinking) before turning off the power. Failure to do so might damage the
data, causing malfunctions.
Tip:
The trigger mode settings will remain in memory even after the power is
turned off.
