Preface, Audience, Conventions – H3C Technologies H3C S10500 Series Switches User Manual
Page 3: Command conventions

Preface
The H3C S10500 documentation set includes 17 configuration guides. These guides describe the
software features for the H3C S10500 Switch Series and guide you through the software configuration
procedures. These guides also provide configuration examples to help you apply software features to
different network scenarios.
The FCoE Configuration Guide describes FCoE fundamentals and configuration. In an FCoE solution, the
server uses an FCoE-capable Ethernet adapter. The FCoE switch (FCoE forwarder) integrates the
functions of both the traditional IP switch and the FC switch. The FCoE solution reduces the number of
network adapters, switches, and cables, and reduces the network operation and maintenance
workload.
