Preface, Audience, Conventions – H3C Technologies H3C S12500 Series Switches User Manual
Page 3: Command conventions

Preface
The H3C S12500 documentation set includes 14 configuration guides, which describe the software
features for the H3C S12500 Series Routing Switches and guide you through the software configuration
procedures. These configuration guides also provide configuration examples to help you apply software
features to different network scenarios.
The High Availability Configuration Guide describes the fundamentals and configuration of various high
availability (HA) technologies provided by the S12500 series switches, which fall into two major
categories: fault detection (including DLDP, Ethernet OAM, BFD, Monitor Link, and Track) and fast
failover (including Active Standby Switchover, Smart Link, RRPP, and VRRP). Fault detection technologies
focus on fault detection and diagnosis on the network, while failover technologies focus on fault recovery.
