Test Options
The scheme for transcutaneous pacemaker testing is shown in Figure 4-1.The
measurement algorithms, protocols, and default waveform selections are based
on the requirements published by Medtronic for their Model 5388 dual
chamber temporary (external) pacemaker. Waveform selections for other
brands and models of pacemakers are available in the Analyzer menus.
Typically, transvenous pacemaker measurements are specified at a test load
setting of 500
Ω
, which is the Analyzer default setting. For most transvenous
pacemaker tests, two additional loads of 200
Ω
and 1000
Ω
are also available.
The test load resistance values track for both the atrial and ventricular
channels.
