3.1.2 Ethernet Connectors
Two Ethernet ports are provided via the Ethernet connectors on the face plate. The left
connector (MGMT ETH, 10/100 Mbps) allows external system managers to access the shelf
manager. The right connector (UPLINK ETH, 10/100/1000 Mbps) is the base interface uplink of
the hub.
3.2 Console Connector
The Front Panel has an RJ45 COM 0 connector. The MF106 provides the serial line interface
COM 0 of the Freescale MPC8306S PowerQUICC II Pro microprocessor. The physical
connection is designed as an RS232 interface.
The RS-232D signals are driven by a Maxim MAX3232 transceiver for isolation and signal
qualify. The Front Panel connector type is RJ-45.
