1.2.1 Shelf Manager Hardware
Artesyn Embedded Technologies's implementation of the shelf manager is based on the
configuration #2, PICMG 3.0 specification, where the shelf manager is divided in the shelf
management controller and the payload hardware.
The payload hardware provides the following features:
 CPU with the shelf management software
 Network connection to the system manager
 Redundancy interface to a second shelf manager instance
 Block transfer interface to the ShMC
 Hardware platform interface (HPI) to the system manager
