QUICK RAID SETUP
1. Invoke the HyperTerminal screen.
2. to the Menu side of the screen and press . Enter password
(default password = 00000000).
3. Remove any disks unintended for the array (any disks intended for use as spares
should be physically removed prior to creating the array).
4. Select the Quick Setup option to create an array. Press .
You will be prompted to select the RAID level to create.
5. Select desired RAID level and press .
Select Yes and press .
NOTES: When using the Quick Setup option, the array will be created on
ALL disks within the InfoStation (any disks unintended for the array
should be physically removed prior to creating the array).
OS limitation is 2.0 TB maximum. However, multiple arrays or parti-
tions can be created to achieve over 2.0 TB capacity (e.g. one
array/partitions with 2.0 TB, the other array/partitions with 1.0 TB,
or a combination thereof).
6. After the array is created, insert remaining disks for use as spares (spares are
added automatically).
7. Once setup is complete:
• If multiple partitions are required, proceed to section "Partitions" on page 42 of
this User's Guide.
• If no additional partitions are required, proceed to section "LUN Mapping" on
page 46 of this User's Guide.
