Operation Problems
•
The front panel LCD displays alternating "Zz" characters.
Cause - This occurs when the cache is full of write request data that has not been processed.
The controller will halt requests from the host to flush out data in the cache.
Fix -
None required.
•
The front panel LCD displays alternating "Ww" characters.
Cause - This occurs when write requests in the cache are being processed. The controller
will also halt requests from the host.
Fix -
Verify that the "Write Buffer" option in the RAID Params Menu is enabled. Increase
cache memory if needed.
•
The front panel LCD displays "OWOOOS".
Cause - This occurs when there are many bad sectors on a disk drive.
Fix -
Change the disk drives.
•
Invalid NVRAM message appears.
Cause - NVRAM error or malfunction.
Fix -
Save settings and restart controller. Contact StorCase Technical Support if the
problem persists.
•
Data loss in Windows 2000 during system shutdown.
Cause - Some data was still in cache buffer during system shutdown.
Fix -
Set Cache Off. To shutdown, select Restart System and wait for 30 seconds before
powering off. Shutdown host OS after shutting down controller.
