PROBLEM
PROBABLE CAUSE
CORRECTION
The machíne does not work.
A single digit number was programmed.
A number without pattern was selected.
Two digit number must be programmed.
A number m the stitch package chart must be selected.
The machine does not work and the
Pattern Indicator reads "Er"^
The area of feed dogs is fiUcd with dust
and lint.
Clean the area ot the teed dogs.
Irregular Stitches
Incorrect size needle.
Improper threading.
Loose upper thread tension.
Pulling tabnc.
Light pressure on presser toot.
Loose presser toot.
Unevenly wound bobbin.
Nicks or burrs at hole ot needle plate.
Choose correct size needle tor thread and fabric.
Reihread machine.
Tighten upper thread tension.
Do not puli fabric; guide it gently.
Increase pressure on presser tool.
Reset presser tool.
Rewind bobbin.
Replace needle plate, or polish off burrs completely.
Breaking Needle
Pulling fabric.
Incorrect size needle.
Iftcorrect setting ot needle.
Loose presser toot.
Oo not pull fabric; guide it gently.

Bunching

Check feed dogs and clean, if necessary.
Be sure fabric does not pile up behind the presser fool.
