Saddle Stitch
SECTION 5. LEARN THE STITCHES
The saddle stitch is tormed with one stitch
forward, two stitches backward, and a
fourth stitch forward.
You can achieve a lovely hand^worked look
when topstiiching suits, blazers, fumpers,
and denim outfits with the saddle stitch.
NOTE: Adjust the needle position tor the
effect you want
1. Sew as you would for topstitching.
2.
To turn corners:
a.
Lower the needle imo the fabric on the fourth stitch.
b.
Raise the presser toot and turn the fabric,
c.
Lower the presser toot and continue to sew.
Helpful Hint
The Blind hem stnch foot is good to use when topstitching near the edge ot the
garment. Just set the edge guide with the guide screw.
