Sew a Button
Use the darning plate lor button sewing {see p. 35|.
■{, Match the button holes to the horizontal slot
on the presser toot.
2. Lower the toot to hold the button in place.
2. Turn the hand wheel fay hand until the needle
point IS just above the button.
Press the stitch width button 1+ or —I so the
needle will enter the left bole oi the button.
Turn the hand wheel so the needle will enter
the right hole ot the button. Beadlust the
stitch width ii necessary.
Stitch several times.
After you finish sewing, cut the thread but
leave 3 to 4 inches oi thread at the button.
Draw the thread to the reverse side ot the
fabric and knot the threads.
