nation zigzag and straight sutch. Use the
mending everywhere you would use the
basic zigzag stitch. U has more strength,
elasticity, and is flatter than a regular zigzag.

The mending stitch is especially useful for:

— sewing patches smoothly and securely.

•™—■ repairing straight tears.
-----finishing seams on terrydoth.
-----sewing bar tacks for belt loops and

drapery pleats.

Here's How to Repair g Tear:

Straight — position the tear under the needle so that the stitching will catch

both sides.

Cornered —stitch from each end to the center. Use a piece of fabric under

the tear to reinforce your mending.
