4.3.5 Component Upgrade Support
Many components can be updated through the IPMC. Most of them (IPMC itself, FPGA and BIOS) are updated
using the HPM.1 Hardware Platform Management IPM Controller Firmware Upgrade Specification revision
1.0. Kontron's IPMC firmware already complies to PICMG HPM.1 R1.0. HPM commands are available from any
of the MC messaging interfaces. The images of the different components can be packaged in the same HPM
image (They can also be separated). Packaging the images together allows to upgrade all the components
using only one upgrade instruction. Moreover, it ensure all components upgraded are compatible.
The following table gives the HPM component IDs implemented on the AT8050.
