Seed-Lok Lock Up

Optional Seed-Lok firming wheels provide addi-
tional seed-to-soil contact. The wheels are spring
loaded and do not require adjusting. In some wet
and sticky conditions the wheels may accumulate
soil.

To lock up Seed-Lok wheels, raise planter. Rotate
lock-up handle 90 degrees down on top of row-
unit body. Push up on Seed-Lok wheel until wheel
arm latches up.

!

CAUTION

Row-unit disk blades may be sharp. Use caution when
making adjustments in this area.

To unlock Seed-Lok wheels, pull up lock-up han-
dle. Seed-lok is spring loaded so it will snap back
into place.

Keeton Seed Firmer

The optional Keeton Seed Firmer is a thin piece of
plastic which slides down the seed trench, trap-
ping seeds as they exit the seed tube and firms
them into the bottom of the “V”.

To adjust the Keeton Seed Firmer, lower the plant-
er until the disks of the row units are resting on the
ground.

Measure the distance from the ground to the head
of the tension screw. This distance should be 4” to
4 1/2”. If not loosen the bolts in the mounting
bracket and select different holes until the proper
measurement can be attained.

!

CAUTION

Row-unit disk blades may be sharp. Use caution when
making adjustments in this area.

The Firmer is provided with a preset tension
which is recommended for using the first year.
The tension screw can be tightened in subse-
quent years according to your needs. Firmers
should provide just enough tension to push seeds
to the bottom of the trench.
