Folding the Planter

!

WARNING

Pinch Point and Crushing Hazard. To prevent serious injury or
death:

Fold only if hydraulics are bled free of air and fully

charged with hydraulic oil.

Stay away from frame sections when they are being raised

or lowered.

Keep away and keep others away when folding or unfold-

ing planter.

Fold the planter on level ground with the tractor in neutral.
If your planter has markers, be certain they are folded and
their control switch is off before folding planter.

Important: Center section of planter will move back
while folding. Allow at least 10’ of clearance behind the
planter when folding.

1.

Activate the hydraulics to raise the planter.

Important: Be sure planter is fully raised before folding
or unfolding or machine damage WILL occur.

Solenoid Valve Selector Switch

Refer to Figure 8

The solenoid valve is used to select between marker op-
eration and fold operation. When set to fold it engages
two circuits, one for the tongue latch hook and the other
for the fold cylinders. The center position is the “Off”
position.

2.

Make sure the in cab selector switch (1) is set to acti-
vate the fold cylinders.

3.

Lower the 3-point hitch.

Refer to Figure 9

4.

Activate the hydraulics to fold the wings. While folding
make sure the 3-point is positioned for the wing locks
to engage the hooks. Hold the lever on until both
wings and gauge wheels are fully folded. This will
rephase the fold cylinders if they get out of time with
each other.

5.

When wings are fully folded raise the 3-point hitch to
engage the wing hooks.

6.

Activate the hydraulics as if to lower the planter. This
raises the wing wheels giving more transport clear-
ance. Mainframe will rest securely on transport
hooks.
