Unfolding the Planter
!
WARNING
To prevent serious injury or death:
• Fold only if hydraulics are bled free of air and fully
charged with hydraulic oil.
• Stay away from frame sections when they are being
raised or lowered.
• Keep away and keep others away when folding or un-
folding planter.
Unfold the planter on level ground with the tractor in
neutral. If your planter has markers, be certain they
are folded and their control switches are off before un-
folding planter.
1. Activate the hydraulics to raise the planter.
Important: Be sure planter is fully raised before
folding or unfolding or machine damage WILL oc-
cur.
2. Make sure the in cab selector switch is set to acti-
vate the fold cylinders.
Refer to Figure 10
3. Lower the 3-point hitch to release the wing hooks.
4. Hold lever in folding direction to rephase all fold
cylinders.
5. Activate the hydraulics to unfold the wings.
6. After wings are fully unfolded and before planting
begins, raise the 3-point hitch until the planter
hitch is 40” of the ground.
7. Switch the in cab selector switch back to activate
the marker cylinders.
Rephasing Lift System
Over a period of normal use the cylinders may get out
of phase. This will cause some planter sections to run
higher than others. To rephase cylinders:
1. Raise the implement completely and hold the hy-
draulic remote lever on for several seconds until all
cylinders are fully extended. Do this every 8 to 10
times you raise planter out of ground.
2. When all cylinders are fully extended, momentari-
ly reverse hydraulic remote lever to retract system
1/2 inch to maintain levelness.
Rephasing Fold System
Over a period of normal use the cylinders may get out
of phase. This is evident by wing gage wheels not run-
ning in their fully rotated positions in front of the planter.
To rephase cylinders:
1.
Raise and fold planter.
2. Hold lever in folding direction to rephase all fold cyl-
inders.
