NOTE: If the license capacity for LUN Security XP Extension is insufficient in the disk array on
the secondary site, you might not be able to create XP Continuous Access pairs. For more information

Combining XP Continuous Access and Volume Manager
LUSE volumes can be assigned to XP Continuous Access pairs, if the P-VOL and S-VOL have the
same LU type and number of LDEVs. To perform LUSE operations on an existing XP Continuous
Access P-VOL or S-VOL, delete the pair first to return the volume to SMPL status.

NOTE: If you allocate a LUSE volume consisting of LDEVs set across more than one CU to the XP
Continuous Access pair, you must select CU Free for an RCU (see Registering RCUs (Add RCU) ).
A LUSE volume consisting of LDEVs set across more than one CU cannot create a pair with the
volume of an XP1024/XP128 or XP512/XP48 disk array because CU Free cannot be added as
an RCU on an XP1024/XP128 or XP512/XP48 disk array.
Combining XP Continuous Access and Custom Volume Size (CVS)
Custom volumes can be assigned to XP Continuous Access pairs if the S-VOL has the same capacity
as the P-VOL. If you need to perform CVS operations on an existing XP Continuous Access P-VOL
or S-VOL, delete the pair first to return the volume to SMPL status.

Combining XP Continuous Access and Cache LUN XP
HP Cache LUN XP volumes can be assigned to XP Continuous Access pairs, and Cache LUN XP
operations can be performed on XP Continuous Access P-VOLs and S-VOLs.

Combining XP Continuous Access and LUN Manager
LUN Manager operations do not affect XP Continuous Access operations. Volumes under secure
ports and/or assigned to host groups or iSCSI targets can also be assigned to XP Continuous
Access pairs. Volumes assigned to XP Continuous Access pairs can also be assigned to secure
ports, host groups, or iSCSI targets for LUN Manager.
