Command device

If the execution of any application that is using the command device is in progress, stop the
application.

Destage cache memory data

All the data in the cache memory must be written into the mapped external volume using the
Disconnect External Storage Systems command or the Disconnect External Volumes command.

LUSE volumes

When it is set as a volume that configures a LUSE volume, you cannot delete the external volume
mapping.

LU path

When an LU path is set to the mapped volume, you cannot delete the external volume mapping.

Replication volume

When the volume is set to configure the Continuous Access Synchronous pair, Continuous Access
Journal pair, Business Copy pair, or Snapshot pair, you cannot delete the external volume mapping.

Business Copy or Auto LUN volume

When the volume is set as the reserved volume for Business Copy or Auto LUN, you cannot delete
the external volume mapping.

Pool volume

When the volume is set as a pool-VOL, you cannot delete the external volume mapping.

To delete the external volume mapping:

1.

Click External Storage in the Storage Systems tree.

The list of available external storage systems appear in the tree.

In the tree, select an external storage system.

The path groups corresponding to the external storage system appear.

Select a path group.

4.

Select the Mapped Volumes tab.

5.

Select an external volume.

6.

On the menu bar, click Actions, External Storage, and then Delete External Volumes. The
Delete External Volumes window opens.

7.

Verify the settings and select the following items.

[Have you already disconnected external volume of above table?]: Click Yes if you have
already performed the Disconnect External Storage Systems command or the Disconnect
External Volumes command. Click No if you have not performed the Disconnect External
Storage Systems command or the Disconnect External Volumes command yet. If you click
No, the following item appears.

[Do you want to execute Delete External Volumes operation without writing the cache
data to the volumes?]: Click Yes if you want to execute the Delete External Volumes
operation without writing the data in the cache memory into the external volume. if you
want to execute the Delete External Volumes operation writing the data in the cache
memory into the external volume, perform the Disconnect External Storage Systems
command or the Disconnect External Volumes command and perform the operation again.
