Entering the Main Menu Mode
Entering the Main Menu Mode
When the Default Screen appears, enter the Menu mode by pressing Enter. The Main
menu shown in
Figure 3-8 appears.

When you press Enter, the screen in Figure 3-10 appears.

Using the # and ! scroll buttons, set the first digit of the unlock code. When it is set,
press Enter to move the cursor to the second digit and repeat the process. When the
entire unlock code has been entered using this process, press Escape, then Enter to
confirm the entry. If the code is correct, the Main menu (
Figure 3-8 ) is displayed. If the
code is incorrect, an error screen appears.
Note. When you press Enter to enter the Menu mode, the Ready light goes out, indicating
that the module is offline. The module responds to all SCSI commands from the host by
reporting Not Ready until you exit the Menu mode and the Ready light goes on.
To prevent inadvertent interruption of host operations, the Menu mode can be locked by using
the Security menu. See
Security Menu on page 3-14 . When the control panel is locked, you
must enter the unlock code to display the Main menu. The Show Status menu remains
accessible and can be displayed from the Default screen at any time by pressing Escape.
Note. If the Control Panel is locked, the screen shown in Figure 3-9 appears. You need the
unlock code for the specific 5258ACL drive before proceeding; if the code is unknown, contact
the system administrator
