Configuring TFTP
All Brocade Virtual ADX devices allow you to use Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) to copy files to
and from the file system by using the copy tftp command. You can use TFTP to perform the
following operations:
•
Copy primary and secondary images for system application
•
Copy a configuration file
NOTE
Certain upgrades may require reinstalling the Virtual Machine. Contact your reseller or Brocade for
information.
Using the management port
The Brocade Virtual ADX management port functions as described in the following:
•
The management port supports IPv4 and IPv6 operations.
•
The management port allows you to configure and manage the Brocade Virtual ADX only. As a
result, this port has the same limited functionality as an IP host port.
•
You cannot enable and run routing protocols on the management port.
•
The management port supports management default route, static routes and directly
connected routes installed in the management process's routing table.
•
If you configure the redistribution of directly connected or static routes for a particular routing
protocol, the routing protocol will not redistribute the routes associated with the management
port.
•
On a Brocade Virtual ADX, the management port supports multiple static routes. You can
configure static routes pointing to the management port at the global configuration level.
To display configuration information and statistics about the management port, you can enter the
show interface management 1 command at any CLI level.
Brocade Virtual ADX takes the following approach to sourcing the management traffic that is
originated by the system itself:
•
If an explicit route to the destination host is known via a data or management route table, then
Brocade Virtual ADX picks the source IP of the respective exit interface.
•
If an explicit route to the destination host is known through a data or management route table
and the source-interface is previously configured by the user, then Brocade Virtual ADX picks
the source IP of the previously-configured source interface.
NOTE
If this involves switching traffic between the data plane and the management plane, then such
traffic is dropped.
