Close the battery cover.
Slide the cover on from the SD Memory Card socket side of the
camera and push until it clicks.
The battery cover fits on the camera so that the “X” of the PENTAX
logo on the cover is nearest the lens.

Remove the battery cover.
Refer to Steps 1 and 2 on the previous page.

Pull the battery tape to lift the battery up.
Lift the battery out of the camera.
Removing the Battery
• This camera uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery D-LI8. Use of
any other type of battery may damage the camera and cause
malfunction.
• Insert the battery correctly. If the battery is incorrectly oriented,
malfunction may result.
• Do not remove the battery while the camera is turned on.
• If you do not intend to use the camera for a long time, remove the
battery.
• If the camera is left without the battery for a long time, the date will
be reset.
