Phone menu to get
to the Contact card
with the tone
sequences.

Note It is not advisable to program any personal codes into
your P800, in case your phone is stolen or lost.

Preferences

In this menu you can change the settings for the telephony
options. (Settings on your P800 that are system-wide and affect
more than one application are made from the Control panel, see
“Control panel” on page 147).

To set the telephony preferences

1. Select

Phone > Edit > Preferences.

2. Select the item to set up.

Sounds and alerts

Use these settings to control how your P800 should alert you of
an incoming call. You can choose to use any sound recording or
audio file. For more information see “Ring signals” on
page 145.

You may personalize the ring melodies further for individual
contacts, see “To change the details of a contact” on page 104.

Ring volume

– Set the preferred sound level for handheld,

handsfree and car use.

Increasing ring

– Select the checkbox to use increasing ring

signals. This disables the other volume settings.

Ring (voice)

– Select a ring signal for incoming voice calls.

Tap the trumpet to listen to the signal. Tap again to stop
playback.
