8.5 Replacing the Backlight (GT30 Only)
The average service life of the GT30 backlight is 50,000 hours (at room temperature,
normal humidity, and 24 VDC). (“Service life” refers to the period over which the
brightness diminishes by half, and does not mean that the backlight no longer lights at
all.) If the backlight has become dim, it should be replaced with a replacement backlight.
The backlight is sold separately.

CAUTION
When replacing the backlight, always turn off the power supply to the
main unit. Also, we recommend wearing gloves when doing this, to
prevent injuries.
Procedure: Replacing the Backlight
1. Remove the cover.
2. Disconnect the connector by pulling upward.
Remove the cover.
Disconnect the connector.
3. Gently pull out the backlight.
Pull out the backlight.
4. Install the new backlight, reconnect the connector and replace
the cover.
NOTE
After replacing the backlight, be careful that the backlight cable is not
pinched by the case, cutting through it.
