NOTE For access to telephone
connections where PIN numbers
are required such as voice mail and
paging systems, you may need to
temporarily transmit the DTMF
tones. If you need to transmit these
tones during a call while
Scratchpad Tones are off, enter the
digits and press ‰, Í.
This feature allows you to turn the Scratchpad Tones
on or off. These are the tones that are sent to the
cellular system to access such things as voice mail,
pagers, telephone banking, etc. These tones are
heard by any party on the other end of the
connection, even if you are using the Scratchpad
Memory. See Scratchpad Memory on page 30 and
above for more information. With the Scratchpad
Tones off and the Keypad Tones on, you will hear the
tones, but the called party will not. See Keypad Tones
on page 78 for more information.
