During a call, pressing

performs a switchhook
function used to access enhanced Cellular System
features such as call waiting and conference calls.
Consult your Cellular Service Provider regarding the
availability of these features.
Have you charged the battery?
Place the unit in the charger and verify that the
indicator lights. If it does not light, check all wire
connections and remove and reseat the battery.
Is the unit locked?
You will need to unlock the phone. See Manual

Is the
NS (No Service) indicator lit?
You may be in an area that is not currently covered by
a cellular provider or in an area where the signal is
too weak to make a call. See Signal Strength Indicator
on page 21 and Service Area on page 157 for more
information.
Have you selected the wrong home system?
If your phone is programmed for two-system
operation, press

Is the unit operating with non-standard settings?
