* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your
access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28.
1. Set the documents to be transmitted and, if necessary, select the
desired resolution and contrast.
* If you want to designate a time for the transmission to begin,
press the DELAYED TX. key.
2. Press the FUNCTION key.
3. Press the (

) cursor key until the following message appears in
the message display.
4. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.
5. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key once again.
6. Enter the fax number of the relay station.
* If you entered the fax number with the keypad, proceed to step 7.
* If you entered the fax number with an abbreviated number, one-
touch key or group dial key that is already registered with the
appropriate SUB (subaddress) and SID (subaddress ID), proceed
to step 11.
7. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.
8. Use the keypad to enter the appropriate SUB (subaddress).

(3) Sending Documents
In order for this fax to function as the initial transmitting station in an
F-Code based Relay broadcast transmission and transmit documents
via a relay station, carry out the following procedure.
10. Use the keypad to enter the appropriate SID (subaddress ID).
(Max. 20 digits)
* If you do NOT need to enter a subaddress ID, proceed to
step 11.
11. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.
To use multiple relay stations, repeat steps 6 through 11 until all
desired fax numbers have been entered.
* If “EXCEEDS MAX. DEST” appears in the message display, the
number of fax numbers entered exceeds the acceptable limit.
* If you pressed the DELAYED TX. key at the beginning of the
procedure, press the ENTER FUNCTION key after all desired
fax numbers have been entered. A message that will allow you
to enter a desired start time will appear. Carry out steps 5 and 6
of “Communication Using the Timer”, page 4-2.
12. Press the START key.
A corresponding file number will appear in the message display.

In order to carry out F-Code based Relay broadcast

The SUB (subaddress) you enter must match the Relay box
number of the corresponding Relay box in the receiving party’s
fax, and
2
The SID (subaddress ID) you enter must match the Relay box ID
of that same Relay box, and
3
The last 4 digits of your own fax number – as registered for your
Self-station Information – must match one of the TSI
(Transmitting Station Identification) numbers registered for that
Relay box.
* If this third condition is satisfied, F-Code based Relay
broadcast transmission is possible even if the initial
transmitting station does not possess F-Code based
communication capabilities.

(4) Printing Out a Relay Box Report
Printing out this report enables the user to confirm information related
to Relay boxes.
* The corresponding SIDs (subaddress IDs) will NOT be printed on
the Relay box report.
* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP key.
