Fax Operation (Basic)

1. Press the STOP key.
* The transmission is currently in progress.

2. The transmission will be cancelled.
* A Transmission report will be printed out.

● Cancelling any Fax Transmission or Reception, or a Polling
Reception in Progress
To cancel any transmission in progress which first stores documents
in memory, such as a Broadcast transmission or a communication
which uses the timer, and to cancel a Polling Reception as well, carry
out the following procedure. As Memory transmission is the default
setting in this fax, the following procedure can be used to cancel any
standard fax transmission.
* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your
access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28.
1. Hold down the ALTERNATE DISPLAY key and press the
STOP key.
* The communication is currently in progress.
2. The communication will be cancelled .
* If the communication involves the transmission of
documents, a Transmission report or Reception report will
be printed out.

Cancelling a Communication
The procedure to cancel a communication differs according to the
type of communication involved.
* If a communication is cancelled in progress, a corresponding
Transmission report or Reception report will be printed out
regardless of the related report print out ON/OFF setting.
Depending upon the type of communication involved, a sample
image of the related documents may be added to the report.
● Cancelling a Direct Feed Transmission in Progress
* A Reverse polling operation that is being carried out in the Direct
Feed transmission mode can be cancelled as well by carrying out
the following procedure.

* To cancel the procedure part way through, press the STOP
key. The message display will revert to the initial mode.

1. Press the FUNCTION key.
2. Press the ( 씱 ) cursor key once.

3. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key. The file number
corresponding to a communication which is awaiting a start
time will be displayed.
* If “NO MEMORY FILE” appears in the message display,
there are no scheduled communications which use the
timer and the message display will revert to the initial
mode.
* If a Memory polling transmission is scheduled, “POLLING
TX” will be displayed after the file number.
* If an F-Code based Confidential polling transmission
is scheduled, the Confidential box number (SEP [selective
polling address]) will be displayed after the file number.

4. Press the ( 씰 ) cursor key until the file number corresponding
to the communication to be cancelled appears in the
message display.

5. Press the ENTER FUNCTION key.

6. The scheduled communication will be cancelled.
If other scheduled communications remain, a Confirmation
report will be printed out.
● Cancelling a Communication which is Awaiting a Start Time
To cancel any communication which uses the timer and is awaiting a
start time, carry out the following procedure.
* It is possible to print out the Confirmation report in order to confirm
what communications have been scheduled. Refer to “Confirmation
Report”, page 8-4. Details regarding various delayed communications
occurring at appointed times can be confirmed by printing out the
Delayed Communication Report. Refer to “Delayed Communication
Report”, page 8-3.
* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter your
access code (or the registered management password) and then
press the ENTER FUNCTION key. Refer to “(5) Entering Your
Access Code”, page 7-28.
* If an access code is entered, it will only be possible to cancel
communications that were scheduled by the same department. In
order to cancel communications scheduled by more than one
department, it is necessary to enter the registered management
password.
