Fax Operation (Basic)

Duplex Fax Transmission
When transmitting a 2-sided document, carry out the following
procedure to scan the document.
* Because Duplex fax transmission involves scanning the documents
into memory before actual transmission, it is accomplished in the
Memory transmission mode.

* If Restricted access is turned ON, it is first necessary to enter
your access code (or the registered management password)
and then press the ENTER FUNCTION key.
Refer to “(5) Entering Your Access Code”, page 7-28.
1. Set the front side of the document face down on the
document table and, if necessary, select the desired
resolution and contrast.

If you selected “YES”, the reverse side of the first page will
not be scanned into memory. Select “YES” when sending a
cover page, etc., and, therefore, the reverse side of the first
page does not need to be scanned.

Scanning of the front side
* If “YES” (to send a cover page) is selected in step 3, page 1-B
will not be scanned.
* If “YES” (to send a cover page) is selected in step 3, page 1-B
will not be scanned.
* If the reverse side of the first page of the transmission (1-B)
is blank and, therefore, does not need to be transmitted,
select “YES” (to send a cover page) in step 3. In this case,
page 1-B will not be scanned.
