7. Initiating the fax transmission
Press the START key.
* The transmission operation will begin.
* BE SURE to remove all documents from the document eject
tray once the transmission is completed.
* To stop the transmission in progress, hold down the
ALTERNATE DISPLAY key and press the STOP key. (Refer
to “Cancelling a Communication”, page 2-18.)
To use the one-touch keys to enter a fax number, it is necessary to
register, in advance, the desired fax number under one of the one-
touch keys. (Refer to “(1) Registering”, page 2-19.)
* If “NOT IN USE” appears in the message display, an unregistered
one-touch key was pressed. Confirm the correct one-touch key and
press that key.
If One-touch dial confirmation is turned ON, pressing the START key
will not initiate dialling immediately. Rather, information such as the
destination name or fax number registered under that one-touch key
will first be shown on the top line of the message display.
Confirm that the destination name and/or number displayed is
actually the one desired and press the key on the keypad
corresponding to the number indicated on the bottom line of the
message display. Dialling will begin.
If the destination is NOT the one desired, confirm the correct one-
touch key and press that key.
* Refer to “One-touch Dial Confirmation ON/OFF”, page 9-9, for more
detailed information on turning One-touch dial confirmation ON
and/or OFF.
* One-touch dial confirmation will also engage when program keys
and group dial keys are pressed.
