3.2.1.1
A summary of the components
PV array
PV arrays consist of PV modules connected in series and parallel. Each series-connected set is called a string. The
electrical properties of the PV array are determined by how many PV modules are in a string, and how many of the strings
are connected in parallel.
DC circuit connection
The PV array comprises individual PV circuits, with each circuit containing one positive and one negative contributor.
The individual PV circuits are connected in parallel at a DC circuit termination point. The DC circuits can be terminated
either outside the inverter, or inside the inverter as shown in Figure 1 on page 8.
Over-current protection devices
Feed-in meter
The feed-in meter is specifi ed and installed by the power supply company. Some power supply companies also allow the
installation of your own calibrated meters.
Utility Electric Disconnect Switch
Your utility operator or authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), may require an external visibile blade disconnect, which is not
required by the NFPA 70
