Connecting the inverter to the utility grid

↻ You must remove the gland plate and have holes fabricated to the dimensions of the desired trade size knock outs

from 1/2” to 1”. The XP10U inverter is NEMA 4 rated. KACO requires that you use UL 514B watertight conduit
connection at the conduit entrance.

Strip AC circuit conductors 2/5”

2. Route the AC circuit conductors to the AC terminals.

3. Open the locks of the PCB terminals.

4. Connect the AC circuit to the PCB terminals, and in accordance with the PCB labeling, L1, L2, L3, N, and Gnd.

5. Close the locks of the PCB terminals.

6. Check that all connected conductors are tightly seated.

The inverter is now connected to the utility grid.

NOTICE

An AC branch circuit protection must be provided in accordance with the NFPA 70 and other local require-
ments.

The maximum branch circuit protection is stated in caution note chapter 7.3.1 on page 20.

If a residual current circuit breaker is necessary due to local requirements, KACO requires that you must
use a type A AFI (AC/DC-sensitive residual current circuit breaker).
