PV system description

3.1

Summary of operation

The PV system creates clean AC energy from sunlight. The PV array absorbs the energy of sunlight, and produces DC
energy. The inverter’s role is to maximize the amount of DC energy inverted into AC, and exported to the utility grid
during the feed in mode of operation.

The feed in process starts with enough sunlight exposed to the PV array for the specifi c minimum voltage and current
levels. The amount of energy available to the inverter is directly tied to the amount of sunlight being absorbed by the PV
array
