Bluetooth Class 1
Bluetooth is available in three classes which differ in transmitting powers and therefore their radio
ranges. Bluetooth Class1 is the class with the greatest radio range:
NetID
PV plants and small wind turbine systems with SMA Bluetooth operating in close proximity to one
another are distinguished by their individual NetID. SMA Solar Technology Bluetooth devices
recognize your Bluetooth plant via an assigned NetID. All devices in a PV plant must therefore have
the same NetID.
Plant password
All devices that have the same user password and NetID are part of one specific plant. Therefore,
any password that is the same for all the devices of a plant is referred to as the plant password by
SMA Solar Technology AG.
SMA Bluetooth Repeater
The SMA Bluetooth Repeater is used in adverse installation conditions for bridging wireless gaps
between devices from SMA Solar Technology AG with Bluetooth Wireless Technology or improving
poor wireless connections.
