Allowing for Multiple Session Assignments to the Same CCA-3074
The CSS32 supports only a single session from each coax device to a single destination
as defined by the host address and TCP port range. It is possible however, to define an
additional session for each coax device, by creating a second destination, but assigning it
the same IP destination and a different non-overlapping TCP port range.
Refer back to the previous section for setting this up. Just remember to use the same IP
address as the predefined circuit and set in a different TCP Port number to define the
starting point of the new range.
This method can be repeated to create up to 10 sessions for an individual coax device.
Supporting More than 128 or 256 Client Sessions from a CSS32
It is possible to support more TN3270 sessions than the 128 allowed by a single FET
Ethernet interface or 256 using two FET interfaces if you are using Visara 1883, 500Lx,
or UCT-L thin clients. A unique feature of the CSS32 called CE Bridge allows certain
Visara thin client products to communicate over the coax interface with IP through the
CSS32 to the Ethernet interface. One such application of this feature is to let a user have
up to 4 full TN3270 sessions displayed on their screen at one time. To turn on the CE
Bridge feature of the CSS32, enable the indicated option:
