System Software
Your computer may already come with system software pre-installed. Where this is not the case, or where you
are re-configuring your computer for a different system, you will find the Windows 8.1 operating system is sup-
ported.
RAID & AHCI Setup
Note that setting up a RAID, or AHCI mode, needs to be done prior to installing the Windows OS (see “Setting
Up SATA RAID or AHCI Mode” on page 7 - 2 ).
Model Differences
This notebook series includes different models (Models A, B, C & D) that vary slightly in design style, color
and general appearance (Models B & C include two different design styles). Not all the model variants, colors,
configurations, buttons etc., are pictured in this manual. Note that though your computer may look slightly dif-
ferent from that pictured throughout this manual, all ports, jacks and general functions are the same for all the
design styles (see
“Specifications” on page D - 1 for further details). See the table overleaf for an outline of
some of the model differences.

Windows OS
Note that the information included on the following pages is for Windows 8.1 only. In order to run Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
without limitations or decreased performance, your computer requires a minimum 2GB of system memory (RAM).
