CHAPTER 3 – GUIDANCE

The Matrix allows product application and vehicle guidance to be
performed simultaneously. Once Unit Setup is complete, guidance
can begin. Providing four guidance modes, Straight A-B , Curved
A-B , Circle Pivot , and Last Pass as well as boundary
application , Return to Point guidance and RealView Guidance
Over Video , gives the user options to conform to the project
requirements.
Three guidance screens keep the user informed.

• Vehicle View creates a computer-generated image of the

vehicle position displayed in the application area. From this
screen one can access options for guidance modes, boundary
areas and BoomPilot.

• Field View creates a computer-generated image of the vehicle

position and application area from an aerial perspective. From
this screen one can access options for boundary areas and a
marked point or enter World View and Pan modes.

• RealView Guidance allows live video input to be displayed

instead of a computer-generated image.
If a Video Selection Module (VSM) is installed on the system,
two video options are available:

►One Camera View - one of up to eight camera inputs can be

selected to change the view of the video input.

►Split Camera View - one of two sets of four camera inputs

(A/B/C/D or E/F/G/H) can be selected to divide the screen into
four separate video feeds.
From this screen one can enter guidance over video and
steering angle modes.

GUIDANCE OPERATION MODES

Guidance Modes include Straight A-B , Curved
A-B , Circle Pivot , and Last Pass .

Field boundaries establish application area and determine the no
apply zone. A Boundary can be established in Last Pass or Field
View .

Straight A-B Guidance

Straight A-B guidance provides straight line guidance based on A and
B reference points. The original A and B point are used to calculate
all other parallel guidelines.

Figure 3-1: Straight A-B Guidance

Curved A-B Guidance

Curved A-B Guidance provides guidance along curved lines based
on an initial A-B reference line. This initial baseline is used to
calculate all other guidelines.

Figure 3-2: Curved A-B Guidance

NOTE: Curved guidance is recommended not to exceed 30° within

the A-B guideline.

HINT: Start on the longest curve of the field. While working in a

bounded area, the guidance pattern extending beyond the
established A-B points will be straight line guidance.

Circle Pivot Guidance

Circle Pivot guidance provides guidance around a central location
that radiates inward or outward. It is used for product application in
a centre pivot fi eld while being guided along a circular guideline that
matches a centre pivot irrigation system radius.
