Single line Searching

There are two single line searching methods. Both allow you to search on any
address element or combination of address elements.

Single line searching is useful if your address information contains one or more
spelling mistakes. There is still a high likelihood that the address engine will retrieve
the address that you want. You can also use any mixture of upper and lower case
characters, as these are not differentiated between during the search.

In contrast to Typedown searching, no searching takes place until you press Return
after entering the search string.

Wildcard Searching

Wildcards are specific characters that can be inserted in the search string to signify
one or more characters that you don’t know.

The two types of wildcard are:

ƒ

question mark (?)

ƒ

asterisk (*)

The difference between the two is that the question mark represents a single
character while the asterisk can stand for any number of characters.

For example, the address “83 Mouse Creek Rd NW, Cleveland, TN, 37312-4840”
could be entered by searching on:

#373?2,83,MOUS*
