2-2 Safety Distances
Install the SL-CHG after calculating and verifying the necessary safety distances.
• Minimum safety distance
The minimum safety distance refers to the minimum distance that the light curtain for press/shearing
machines must be separated from the hazardous zone or hazard in order to stop the machine before
people or objects can reach the hazardous zone or hazard. The centerline at the SL-CHG’s beam axis
surface is used as the origin when calculating the minimum safety distance.
