R/S-SST instruments equipped with BU software (rheometer part numbers RS4SSTB115LS and
RS4SSTB230LS) are used with spindle geometry RSS-90Y (used with instrument serial numbers
beginning 304 or 702) or RSS-89Y (used with instrument serial numbers beginning 302 or 303)
for testing according to ASTM C474.
The RSS-90Y/RSS-89Y have three parts (see Figure C-1): the Spindle Adapter (which connects
to the rheometer), the BU Spindle Type A and the Thumb Screw (which secures the Spindle in
the Spindle Adapter).
